Manabu. Shimada is a Japanese sonic artist based in London and Tokyo, with an MMus in Studio Composition from Goldsmiths University (2011).
His expertise in music and sound design is distinguished by a foundation in psychoacoustics and music cognition. He enhances brand and agency experiences by merging creative strategies with scientific research in sonic branding, guided by the “Sound + Human” concept.
His first album, ‘appropriate positions,’ was released by +Mus in Tokyo, and ‘pieces for her’ was released in July 2016 by Sounds et al.
Since 2017, he has been part of the creative studio res.lab, a collective focused on immersive audio for installations, VR/AR, and sound art.
